I'm the new librarian at the Progress Centre. I've stumbled into most of my problems and stumbles out again, but the waitlist has me baffled. I can view it but I can't figure out how to add to it. Help! Thank you in advance. -Edwina

What do you mean by waitlist? I haven't heard of that (in Inmagic).

Hi Zoe, If an item is out, and a patron would like to have it next, I should be able to put a "Hold" on it, or add it to the "Wait list" so when the item comes back the computer tells me who wants it next. I can't access this feature at all and want to know how to do it. I can't keep little post it notes all over my desk trying to keep track. So, if any one can help I would really appreciate it. -Edwina

Though I haven't yet used it myself, I did notice in my loans menu, under transactions, a link titled add waitlist request. When I clicked on it a query screen came up. I then did a search in the field "Items Out", then displayed the edit window. This brought up a report which contains a field titled "Waiting List". I am assuming that if I entered a person's name, then later did a search of this field, it would let me know that this item had a person waiting for it. If your database looks different, then there might have been modifications made to it, which you could probably correct by editing the db.

Hi, People keep telling me I can edit the Database, or modify the database. If I do this, what is the chance I will totally screw up the system and lose all our information? I don't want to make things worse. -Edwina
