I have my borrower textbase set up with an "Expiration Date" field, but I don't know how to use that field to deny circulation to someone whose privileges have expired.
I would like somehow to be automatically notified if a borrower's expiration date has passed, or I would like to be automatically prohibited from lending to him/her. I am hoping that I won't have to delete the borrower record because I want to maintain records of past loan activity. Does anyone have a configuration that works this way? Thanks, Linda |

Hi Linda ---
There's no effective way to have dbtext "push" the fact that a borrower has expired to you automatically, so the best thing would be to halt a circulation transaction if their record had expired. The script which does the loan could be updated to include an expiry check on the borrower. The Expiration field should be included in the borrower information area as well. The script update could be quite simple. And uh, since I think I'm the one who modified your original lending script... contact me offline for further details!
