Hi all:
Is there a way to have DB/Text for Libraries send me an email notification when serials in our catalog need to be renewed? For example, I have been using the "renewal date" field so I can run a report every month and have it bring up the items that need to be renewed. But I'd rather have DB/Text send me an email so I don't have to remember to run reports! Please let me know whether this is possible, and how to set it up. Many thanks, eboni The Columbus Dispatch Columbus, OH = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = "I really didn't realize the librarians were, you know, such a dangerous group ... You could write a menu script similar to the ones displaying Overdue Loans and Overdue Periodicals on the Catalog menu screen in DB/Text for Libraries 6.0 that displays the number of serials that needs to be renewed next to a link which does the necessary search.
You could even have it pop up a message, if you needed a more obvious reminder. Either would remind you whenever you started DB/TextWorks. Your local dealer or Inmagic Consulting could help you write such a script, or possibly set up one which would email you. |
