I use Db Text for libraries and I have two questions.
1. I would like to restrict the number of materials that a user can borrow. I lend five items and the system should restrict an extra loan by showing a message to that effect.
2.I want the system to bar those with overdue materials from any further borrowing.
I would appreciate if any of you might have answers to this problem. I know scripts might do the trick but I have no idea how to go about it.

hi welcome to the forums,

unfortunatly this is a slightly more complicated customization of the library module, especially for the overdue restriction, and would require fairly lengthy modification to the code.

i would advise contacting your dealer or inmagic to obtain a quote or look at the scripting examples, make a copy of your database and try to learn it.

You would begin by looking up how to do queries in script, there is an example under the recordset scripting object in db/text online help.
