Hello Forum

I'm an MLIS student doing an internship with a small non-profit agency who used DB/TextWorks 11.0 for their library.

Most of the resources are free online PDF's, etc.

I'd really like to be able to add a link to the catalog record.

Now the URL is in the notes field and must be copied and pasted into a browser by the patrons.

Strangely enough, there is a field in the form used to enter a new record labled "url" (lower case) which is not editable, and appears to be a date/time stamp of when the record was created. This field also displays in the web catalog which I would rather it not do...

I'm very unfamiliar with this cataloging interface.

Would any kind forum members give me some guidance?

Thanks in advance

You can create a field in the database that recognizes urls as links. When you create a new data entry field in your form, open up form box properties and go to the HTML tab. Look for the drop down menu "Treat Content Item as:" then choose URL. This will make you links active.

Modify your online display to include this field, and the link should show up online for the record.
