Do I understand that a CD containing read-only textbases and the run-time software cannot be used on a PC where DB/TextWorks has been installed?
I read the following article: Instructions for creating a DBTW run-time CD with a single database for distribution We have a multi-user license with the DB/TextWorks software installed on our server. I'd like to create a CD with read-only access to some of our textbases, which could be used at times when our server is down. Thus we would like to use the CD on PCs where DB/TextWorks has been installed. |

I don't think you need to create runtime versions if the PC has DB/Textworks installed on it. You should be able to run your databases off a CD (ie copy your database/s to CD).
Hope this makes sense. Cheers Jane |

The software is installed on our server. The PCs have the workstation installation, local user settings, etc. After I posted my note about this, we had a temporary server outage. Without the server software, I could not run DB/TextWorks and open the textbases on the CD.
So I am still interested in learning if the run-time software would work in such an instance. |
