I've been put in charge of our migration for DBTextWorks and WebPubPRO (both version 11, recently updated). I'm still learning this stuff, so I wanted to tap into the knowledge base around here.
We are currently on a Windows Server 2000 box, and Active Directory 2000. We are migrating over to a Windows Server 2003 box, on Active Directory 2003. The other catch is that due to multiple applications being on the server, it can't be done at once, and thus won't have the same computer name. So, what steps do I need to do? Here's my thinking: 1. Install DBText/WebPubPRO v11 fresh on the new server 2. Copy the databases over, keeping the same file structure 3. Since there's no AD authentication for database logins, I'm assuming the new AD shouldn't matter (as long as users have access to the directorys) 4. Update any of the links we have on our Intranet to point to the new server. That just seems too easy, though. I'm thinking there's more to it, but I don't know where to start. Any suggestions, or links to good DBText info? Thanks |
