We use db/TextWorks and WPP v. 9 and use fields for copies/volumes 1-6 to enter barcode numbers.

The barcodes fields are used in our intermediary Circulation textbase.

We now face a situation requiring us to track many more copies. Is a linked database the best solution, creating a database of item level info linked to the bibliographic record in the primary database?

The DB/Text for Libraries program appears to have a copy management feature. Before I create a linked database, I want to make sure I'm not overlooking a way in DB/Textworks to mimic the copy management feature.

Am hoping to benefit from voices of experience.
