Is there a way to get DBText (v8) to detect a URL in the mms://... form? We're linking to multimedia files and the http:// protocol isn't used. I've got 'Detect URLs' turned on, but the links aren't live.

The Detect URLs feature uses the Microsoft Rich Edit control to recognize the URLs and turn them into hyperlinks.
It's possible a newer version of the Microsoft DLL would have this functionality. For now, I can only suggest that you use the functionality described in Sample JavaScript #6: Launch document(s)... to launch the file. This script requires that the mms:// URL be in an entry by itself, not as part of a longer paragraph, and that your Windows system recognize that type of URL so it can be launched. |
