We have DBText version 9 and recently upgraded to Word 2007. There is no longer a save as .asc option in Word 2007, only save as .txt. We do a lot of importing into DBText using the tagged inmagic format, in the past saving Word files as ascii files. This no longer seems to work. I don't know how Word 2007 actually saves as text because inmagic does not recognize the import file as legitimate from the get-go -- it says "Unknown field name" to everything I have tried. Besides, Word 2007 does not have .asc as an option and when it saves as text the necessary spacing disappears. Has anyone encountered this?

I haven't noticed this exact problem but it shouldn't be a problem to save the Word 2007 doc as a .txt file and then import into DBT using the Delimited ASCII button on the import options dialogue box. You may need to open the .txt file in notepad and make a not of what the field seperator is but it'll probably be a tab. You will also have to note the order of the fields in the .txt file and then speify the order in which to import the fields into your database. Once you've done it once it becomes very easy.
