Can someone clarify the functionality of the Desktop ODBC driver (is that the correct name for the single user product)for me please.

I understand that it can be used to access an Inmagic database from a third party report writer product such as Crystal Reports.

BUT

Can it be used to allow DBTextworks to use ODBC calls to access an SQL Database such as MSAccess?

What I would like to do is allow my Information Services colleagues staff to be able to use DBTextworks a tool they know and love to access our Property Management System. They are only interested in a small part of the property data relating to the various legal documents registered in it which they have in secure custody in the safes. If possible I would like to attach additional fields in DBTextworks to allow them to track issues and movements of the documents.

I can access the Property System by creating attached tables in MSAccess and creating a single query which assembles all of the relevant data. Rather than create them an Access form it would be nice to connect it to DBTextworks (then they can do their own Smile )

Why can't you just export the data at regular intervals and import it into the Inmagic database? You may even be able to make it automatic by using DBText Power Pack import tools?
