We are using TextWorks and WebPublisher version 11.

We have a textbase set up for browser-based adding and editing of records. We have a few required fields, which, if left blank when adding a new record and the person hits "submit record," will return this type of message:

Your record was rejected.
Reason: Required field 'G-or-W' cannot be empty.
OK

All this is as expected. Normally, when the person clicks on the OK button, they will be returned to the edit form and everything is still filled in. They can add just the required info that was missing, submit the record and be done.

However, sometimes when the person clicks on the OK button, they will return to the edit form and all the fields have been wiped clean. They have to start from scratch.

I've got a group of 7-10 users who have been testing this textbase for several weeks now (in their offices, each on their own PCs). We have had one person with the "fields-wiped-clean" problem -- it happened once to her and never again. No one else had this odd occurrence, nor could we replicate it on any of our PCs.

This morning we did some training/testing in our new training lab and everyone (19 people) had empty fields when they clicked on the OK button. Now back in our own offices, things are working as they should. We hit the OK button and get back to the edit form with the data still filled in.

I don't know if this is an InMagic issue or an Explorer issue. The training lab computers all have Explorer 7 newly installed as of yesterday. Our personal PCs in our offices are also using Explorer 7, but they may have had their settings changed when our IT department set them all up off of a cloned machine. I'm still waiting to hear from IT as to whether they adjusted our IE7 settings.

The easy answer is that it works when it's supposed to, when we are working in our offices, so why worry? But I'm afraid there may be something I've missed in the set up that will cause problems when we get new computers, new employees, or upgrade Explorer the next time.

Any suggestions?

I've narrowed down the problem somewhat.

The fields empty only when you either leave a required field blank or try to enter something not on the validation list in a field that has a validation list, AND you've filled in one (or more) of the other fields using its validation list.
