I have lost the functioning browse choice buttons. They (for multiple d.b.) do not present the list of items to choose from, instead I get the "page can not be found" message. I can still search by put text in the input field and submit. I have webpublisher PRO 8.0 and was working on upgrading it. I upgraded IE from 5.0 to 6.0 and added SP4 to my Windows 2000 server (I have since backed-off SP4).
I was able to upgrade a test server from 8.0 to 11.0 with a bunch of server patches and updates (like .NET) running the same databases.
Does anyone have a suggestion. Of course I was updating my production box. The link to the d.b. server is http://www.co.ulster.ny.us/archives/series.html

Thank you
Jim

iis extensions list

I believe my extensions are okay. I can do a hard coded query successfully, but if I try to use the browse choice button I get page cannot be found. Here is my main page of d.b. http://www.co.ulster.ny.us/archives/database.html The search links are what I am having the problem with.
Thanks again for any assistance I can get.

I had a client the other day with a simular problem. some things to check are:

  • check that your InmagicBrowse virtual directory is going to the inmagicBrowse directory (inside the ics-wpd directory on web server).
  • also check that the index_browse.aspx file exists
  • check .net 2.0 web extensions are allowed in IIS.
  • make sure the InmagicBrowse virtual directory is running .net 2.0
  • try adding your url to your servers host file

Thank you. That was what I was missing. Don't know why I didn't notice it, since I had my test system working fine.

One last problem, is now that the browse choice brings up the index list of my items. If I mouse click on any item I get the following: Server Error in '/InmagicBrowse' Application. Runtime error.

If I do a find within the browser choice window then a select and close. Then all works fine. Seems to be on my mouse selection in the browser choice window.

Thank you once again for all your help.
