Greetings:

If I try to add or edit records on the web I get

"DB/Text WebPublisher cannot modify records because it does not have write access to the textbase"

The IUSR has "full control" access to the folder containing the textbase. It says that permissions are not inherited. Is that a concern? Does IUSR need to have permissions at a level higher up?

I checked the textbase files, which had been checked "read." I then checked "write" as well. But that didn't change anything.

This is all very curious seeing as how I used to be able to edit and records to this textbase, but now I can't.

Any tips or insights on how to go about shooting this trouble?

Thanks

It's either Windows permissions or a textbase password. Are you sure the dbtw-wpd virtual directory is using the IUSR account?

Lisa:

Yes, it must be. There are several datatextbases that reside in the same folder. Only one has the problem.

Thanks

Have you checked the file permissions on each of the files? Maybe someone made one or more of them read-only for some weird reason.

They were marked read only when I when in to look at them. I changed them to read/write, but it didn't enable access. (!@#???&%^#@!?) Know what I mean?

Thanks

Hi Bob,

I know you had posted this question before. I wonder if you can post any solution to this problem. I have this same issue and I am new to this.

Thanks,
Sean
