Hi:
Using CSTW 1.3, trying to open a textbase, and getting the message "Cannot maintain the thesaurus because someone else is already doing so." I click on "OK" and then get the message "Do you wish to remove this textbase from the recently used file list?" Textbase won't open. Anyone know what's going on here? Thanks Bob Sweet UMTRI bsweet@umich.edu |

Is the textbase a thesaurus textbase? Only one person can open a thesaurus textbase with full access at a time.
You can try opening the textbase read-only (check the "Open as read-only" check box on the Open Content Server Textbase dialog box). If you turn on the EnableSlotLog=1 feature in the [Advanced] section of the INMCSRV.INI file, when people open any textbase, a line will be written to the textbase .SLT file saying who has the textbase open. (This won't help you now, unless that feature was already turned on before the other person opened the textbase.) A thesaurus textbase has the following fields: Field Summary: 1. ID: Automatic Number(next avail=2, increm=1), Term 2. Term: Text, Term & Word Validation: unique, required, single-only 3. ScopeNote: Text, Word 4. NT: Text, Term & Word 5. BT: Text, Term & Word Validation: single-only 6. RT: Text, Term & Word 7. Use: Text, Term & Word Validation: single-only 8. UF: Text, Term & Word 9. OtherNotes: Text, Word 10. Status: Text, Term 11. DateCreated: Automatic Date(Date Only,When Created), Term 12. DateChanged: Automatic Date(Date Only,When Created or Modified), Term |

Lisa:
Yes, it is a thesaurus textbase. I didn't realize there was such a beast. I thought that it was regular-old textbase configured to act as a thesaurus. The "Open as read-only" works just fine and allows more than one person to get in and search. Thanks Bob |
