Hi,

I recovered a textbase, and it made a copy of the original textbase. (Actually the first time I did it, it crashed, and I was left with just the original textbase. However, the second time I tried, it worked.) Now I want to delete the original textbase, but every time I try (using CSAdmin->Manage Textbases->Delete Textbase) CS Admin hangs. I've checked the textbase, deleted all the records, deleted all textbase elements, and deleted all the fields except one, and I still can't delete the textbase.

Look at the status bar while the deletion is going on. Sometimes the "Removing SQL database" step can take a while, especially if the textbase ever was large. You may just need to be patient.

To manually delete the textbase, choose Manage Textbases>List Textbases (with no textbase open) to determine the internal database name:

Textbase: C:\inmagic\genie\Textbases\Sample\Catalog
SQL Database: '_InmTB_27'

Then you can use:

• Windows Explorer to delete the external textbase files (catalog.cba, catalog.cac, catalog.cbs, catalog.ini, catalog.log), and
  
  
• Enterprise Manager (or SQL Server Management Studio Express CTP) to delete the internal SQL database.
