We are currently runnining Content Server V9 and SQL Server 2000. We are considering switching to SQL Server 2005 Express (for cost reasons).
Will V10 run with Express? Are there limitations such as size of the textbase? In our office, we do not have experience with the SQL maintanence therefore I'd appreciated hearing from those who use it. Thanks. |

Content Server v10.0 will run on SQL Express.
SQL Express limits database size to 4 Gig. |

Thanks for the reply. I did eventually find the SQL Express specs and saw that.
I would guess that if Content Server can run on SQL Express, it can run on the Standard version of SQL Server and doesn't require the Enterprise version. Can you confirm that? Thanks. |

Content Server Workgroup will only run on MSDE or SQL Express.
Content Server Standard will run on any level of SQL Server (MSDE, SQL Express, SQL Server Standard 2000, SQL Server Standard 2005). Content Server Enterprise has been discontinued. |

Debbie~what kind of cost impact were you expecting with a move to 2005? Do you anticipate any impact to scalability?
