We are looking to buy a barcode scanner for the library. I wonder if someone out there are using similar scanners or could provide any helpful information. Our requirements are:
- for Barcode type: Code 39
- USB and Windows XP compatible
- Laser
- Portable; hand-held is fine but must be cordless and work independent of computer attachment.
- LCD screen: optional, nice to have
- Storage capacity: modest. Loan data will be uploaded into Genie Loans textbase 3 times a day.
- Range of use: about 1 foot distance
- Durability: not heavy duty
