ACER is seeking to appoint a Librarian who is committed to user
satisfaction, to join its Cunningham Library. The main responsibilities of the position include the supply of and access to information for ACER staff and members, management of the membership program for external users, and design and maintenance of the library web pages and databases. Cunningham Library uses DB/Textworks, WebPublisher PRO and other Inmagic software for its catalogues and databases, see http://www.acer.edu.au/library/catalogues.html Applicants must be tertiary qualified and eligible for membership of the Australian Library Information Association, and will have experience in a specialist or research library, including reference, online searching, and document delivery and user services. Experience with a range of library management software and online systems is essential. Applicants will have excellent database management skills, and familiarity with web Internet and html technology. Well-developed communication, interpersonal and time management skills are important, as is the ability to work both within a team and independently. An understanding of the education field, and print and electronic publishing industry is desirable. Promotional or marketing skills would be preferred. The initial appointment is for a period of two years. The appointment is full-time, although applications for part-time work (minimum hours at 0.8 time fraction) will be considered. Salary is within the range of $46,905 to $51,841 (full-time equivalent) plus 17% superannuation.
