Hi there,
I have installed DBSpider on a webserver where I don't have administrative rights. I must have administrative rights to start / stop the spider service. Is there a tool available to do this? I spoke with the administrators of this machine. If there is no tool available to provide us with these functionalities, they could make one. If so, is there a possibility to integrate this into the Spider configuration screen. (the start and stop service button) kind Regards, Marco, Asser Institute. |

Marco, as an NT service you must have the necessary rights to start/stop the spider.
You can RUN the spider using any username specified (Under the Services tab go to the Properties of the Spider, and change the LogOn parameters). I do not know if this affects permission to start the spider as well. But no, Inmagic does not have any utility that would allow a user with non-admin rights to service the spider. ------------------ Rachel |
